They're high in carbs and sugar…. this is fine if you're going to exercise a lot, but your body won't start burning fat until it burns off carbs. So the more carbs you eat, the less fat your body will burn. This is why it's best to stick to foods high in protein and low in carbs.

Carbs are still good for your body, just in moderation. With all the fast food and junk food, people are getting way too many carbs. That's why it's recommended to cut back.
