Am I abnormal? Please answer?

Post

I'm a 15 year old girl. I have often been told that I am 'weird' (in a jokey way…I hope) and my teachers at school tell me I am a 'daydreamer', 'vague', 'not with it' and 'away with the fairies'. I'm an introvert, although I can be sociable and I am often the main entertainer when with good friends.

When I am alone I talk to myself and wave at myself in the mirror and make funny faces to myself when I see my reflection in a shop window etc. It's like I am my own best friend and I love it! However, I have done this a few times when my friends were around and they said they were 'seriously worried' about me. I don't know why, because I do this all the time, I shouldn't be afraid to me myself whether I am alone or not. I sing to myself quietly when walking in the street. I love just wandering around aimlessly at school, thinking to myself, but people take it the wrong way and think I am lost, 'weird' and have no friends.

I wonder whether I really am different from everyone else, or whether everyone is like this inside but they hide it? What do you think?

Thanks very much for your answers :)

I know as a fact that a lot of people act like that :) Besides, who wants to be normal? Normal people are boring.

It seems to me that you are comfortable with yourself, so others should be too.  If you are happy then dont give a stuff what other people think, being yourself is the best thing you can ever be :))

God no, I'm just the same. Well, except for the making funny faces in show windows. I only do that in private. But apart from that I'm exactly the same. Just be yourself, and if other people don't like it, screw them.i find my own company so much better from other people's. I always talk to myself and heck why shouldn't I, I'm amazing (just kidding.).
But seriously, I wouldn't get too worried about it. When your friends say they are seriously worried about you, they won't mean it seriously, and if they do then it's there problem not yours.
Hope this helped :)

You are perfectly fine. Don't mind when your friends say stuff like that they do that all of the time. Just be yourself.

25% of the world are introverts and every single one of them are classed as weird including myself but we are not weird we are just misunderstood.

Just ignore stupid opinions, if we were all the same the world would be a very boring place.

Sounds like your just a happy person. Theres nothing wrong with being yourself and being happy. You know who you are and are happy to be you. Most people got no idea who they are let alone being happy in themselves. Be proud of who you are and continue to be you and being happy about you.  Like the old saying goes…. you cant be good for someone else until your good with you!

I was somewhat like this too, when I was your age. Don't let others make you believe you're weird. So, you may do things differently than some others around you, but that is the way you are. I have a friend like this. True friends accept each other the way they are. I understand students saying things to you, because they haven't learned enough yet to be accepting. I think it's awful for the teachers to say. Some of the smartest & most artistic people are the way you are. Be accepting & happy with yourself. My best ideas come when I daydream.
